Best weather boosts Galveston Bay fishing to year’s peak catches
Galveston Bay anglers enjoyed a seven day stretch with daily limits as wind eased and sun returned. Guides James Plang Mike Williams and Ray Sexton reported big trout to 6.5 pounds, redfish and black drum in jetties and passes, and top water bites along Matagorda and Sabine Lake shores. The strong fishing persisted from bays to surf with live bait, popping corks, and deep shell producing limits and standout trout on various lures.
