Commentary on gasoline prices and political inaction across states
A reader vents about rising gasoline costs and U S political leadership, blaming Congress and President Bush for inaction. He recalls a past plan advocating a 50 percent energy discount for drillable states, followed by a 70 percent price hike for non-drilling states, and questions offshore drilling bans and state disparities. He targets Vermont for environmental posturing while stressing domestic drilling. The piece critiques leaders’ delayed responses to energy crises and urges action.
