45 Day Closed Season Set On Gulf Shrimping
Texas Gulf shrimpers began operating under an emergency order from the State Parks and Wildlife Commission that resets the closed season to June 19. The move follows a sudden bay condition change as cool weather slowed shrimp growth earlier. The commission cited many undersized brown shrimp migrating to the Gulf after a cold wave and heavy rains.
