Nighttime Texas tale of a lamp caper and a mistaken knock
A Houston couple recounts a late night scene inspired by Dirty Harry. The narrator, in casual, comic voice, awakens to a doorbell ringer in the yard, confronts a would be intruder, and reflects on the odd sequence before returning to bed. The piece blends humor with noir homage and domestic details.
