Hardy gets six months in jail for perjury in Coates case
Former Chambers County Chief Deputy Dearl Hardy was sentenced to six months in jail and fined 2500 for class A misdemeanor perjury connected to a late night arrest in Anahuac. He remains free on 10000 bond pending appeal. The jury found him guilty March 19 after pre sentencing investigation and a delayed hearing.

Two Georgia men, Christopher Grass and Ronald Sapp, were arrested after allegedly robbing an Eagle Dome convenience store in the 9200 block of Highway 146 and assaulting a clerk. They reportedly used stolen cash to buy a pellet gun at Wal-Mart and rode a cab to multiple Mont Belvieu and Baytown locations before a second clerk spotted them. Both suspects confessed on video and are jailed in Chambers County on 200000 bond.

The Municipal Development District plans to fund design work for synchronizing traffic signals on Alexander Drive and North Main Street, aiming to attract federal funds through HGAC.
