Reminders to keep children safe in hot vehicles
Parents should place notes and a kept stuffed animal in the back seat as reminders that a child is in the car. Leave a required item in the back seat to ensure the driver checks the vehicle. Always remove kids first, coordinate daycare calls for late arrivals, and check both seats after every trip. Heat risks for children are high, with rapid temperature rise in hot cars. If a child is left alone, call 911 and alert nearby management if parked at a business.
