Heisig Leads Grand Prairie Softball Into Playoffs
Grand Prairie coach Heisig celebrates 29th anniversary as he guides the softball program into the playoffs for the first time this spring. His daughters Sara and Abby pursue teaching careers while he recalls coaching 11 straight Gopher playoff baseball teams including the 1995 squad with Kerry Wood that reached state. The team competes in District 8-5A against Duncanville and Irving MacArthur and fell to Plano in the first round. Heisig calls the journey challenging yet rewarding and fun.
