In Saigon and North Viet Nam reports say American warplanes pounded North Viet Nam for a fourth straight day. Attacks targeted antiaircraft sites, oil depots, storage areas, and river traffic while a rescue operation saved a downed American crew member under heavy fire. Ground fights in South Viet Nam remained light with brief engagements as US and Vietnamese forces press Operation Crazy Horse north of An Khe and northeast of Saigon.

Delegates praised the gathering but the push to repatriate Viet Nam policy as a racial issue was largely resisted. The event blended policy talk with a sociable, interracial atmosphere at a Washington hotel. Everest Keene's orchestra plans a dance tonight at KC Hall hosted by Columbus.
