The council aims for under 9 percent variance between districts with about 12,000 residents per district and considers keeping Country Club in one district. Concerns over the Districts 1 and 2 dividing line are noted as a state election law may force city elections to November or align with state and national votes. A budget work session is set for Aug 4 with a public hearing on Aug 25. The meeting approved demolishing two vacant buildings on West Texas Avenue and honored staff for years of service and employees of the month and team of the month including Dr. Matt Robbs for shelter support.
