Pink Ribbon Sundays kickoff to promote breast cancer screening in Baytown
The Breast Health Initiative began July 14 with American Cancer Society San Jacinto Methodist Hospital Cancer Center and church officials. A $19,000 grant funds outreach to medically underserved women ages 40 to 65 for free screening mammograms, education, and follow up through March 2007 or until funds run out. Volunteers will staff information centers at five local churches and assist with sign ups and Pink Ribbon Sunday events.
