Morgan's Point Ferry Opens With Two Day Celebration
Nearly 75 years ago the Morgan's Point ferry began on July 29 1933 linking Hog Island and Morgan's Point and a two day free barbecue drew thousands to Tabbs Bay. Harris County operated the service until 1939 when the state took over, with the final voyage in 1953 after the Baytown La Porte Tunnel opened.
