Plant Man's Wife Killed In Collision
Mrs. Lewla Marks of La Porte wife of a Baytown Refinery worker was killed Wednesday night in a collision at La Marque. The Maris' young sons Victor and Randy are in critical condition. They were returning from Galveston when another car struck a guywire on a utility pole, knocking it down onto the Marks car and causing the crash. Blood donors rally for Roy Carter at Hermann Hospital
Fourteen pints have been donated for Roy Carter with 32 pints used in transfusions to date. Carter has received 24 pints since his Houston hospital admission after a swimming accident and neck injury. Miss Tobye Fram, UT sophomore, is the only woman responding. she will donate in Houston. Carter’s condition shows slight improvement as he’s off an oxygen tent. A television has been donated by Willte’s, and a $300 buffet supper was held to aid his recovery. He is in room 403, and donors may contact Wehelige or go to Hermann Hospital for blood donations daily 9 to 11 and 2 to 4.
