A Highlands resident reports a Wednesday morning home invasion at the 300 block of Avenue E. The intruder kicked in the front door around 9 45 a m and threatened the victim with a sharpened metal frog gigger before taking the man s phone and fleeing on foot. The 56 year old victim described the suspect as a white or Hispanic male with short dark hair wearing a gray shirt and black pants. No injuries were reported.

Baytown police say a 2-year-old seated in a flotation chair flipped over at a residential pool on Lazy Lane Wednesday. The child was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital but remained conscious and breathing after CPR was performed by the homeowner until responders arrived.
A 34 year old Houston man was charged with felony evading arrest and unauthorized use of a vehicle after a truck and foot pursuit with police. Benito Gracia, the truck driver, remained in Harris County Jail on a $25,000 bond related to the 5:38 p.m. Wednesday incident. Detectives observed a stolen black Chevrolet Silverado at a Shell station on Lynchburg Cedar Lee.
