Lemond recalls Sterling glory days and life lessons
The article recalls Lemond and teammates Sammie Singleton and Howard Sampson as the Ross S. Sterling Rangers formed a feared Texas defense in the early 1970s. Lemond credits coach Al Dennis for molding character and leadership while later pursuing a life as an ordained Catholic deacon after football. He notes Singleton’s passing and reflects on lasting bonds, while describing his current path toward ordination in 2013 and pastoral duties in Crosby.
