San Jacinto Battleground restoration uses clean dredged silt

TPWD says about 100 acres of marshland at San Jacinto Battleground have been restored using dredged silt tested for contaminants. Officials insist the material was clean, drawn from Barbours Cut, nine miles downstream, and approved by EPA, TEQ, USACE, FWS, and TPWD. The effort aims to reduce contaminant load in local fish and shellfish while restoring historic landscape features.
