Residents seek to keep San Jacinto pits capped
A Highlands and Channelview water scare prompts San Jacinto Citizens Against Pollution to question dioxin sources and urge keeping the San Jacinto River Waste Pits capped. Harris County tests flagged dioxins in 28 of 100 wells, but retesting followed a lab error and officials cited background dioxins not linked to the pits. Community members may send letters to EPA Region 6 Administrator Ron Curry in Dallas voicing concerns.
