Daylily hobby grows for J Garlin Smith in Louisiana
J Garlin Smith of Baytown nurtures a lifelong passion for daylilies begun in Pineville Louisiana. Since retirement in 1962 his garden has expanded with seeds from Mrs Mounce and new varieties from George Beall and LSU. He describes hemerocallis as day beauties thriving in sun with spacing and care. His garden includes thousands of plants in a lab-like house and a wide landscape redesign featuring Japanese yew and evergreen specimens.
