Fishing Nears Finish in Ninth Annual Junior Ranking Change
The ninth annual Trinity Galveston Bay fishing contest nears its end with two junior division rankings changing hands. Mrs C W Plato oversaw the official weigh station as Kenneth Vrana moved to second with a 13 ounce red fish and Sharon Pearson to third with a 3 pound 4 1/2 ounce gaffer. Friday and Saturday's deep sea fleets failed to produce the expected haul as crews search for red snapper and other fish amid off color waters. The final fish fry, at Captain WL B Thompson's camp, closes the event with admission equal to the fishing fee and tickets available at the camp.
