Double Bayou Marine Killed In Viet Action
ANAHUAC Marine Lance Cpl Charles Everett Humphrey 22 son of Mr and Mrs Archie Humphrey Sr of Double Bayou killed in action in the Quong Tre area of South Vietnam on Sunday July 2. Parents notified by Beaumont officers. Humphrey a 1963 honor graduate of Double Bayou High School had been in Vietnam since September 1966 and was awarded the Medal of Valor after saving a fellow Marine. He attended Prairie View State College two years before enlisting and was a member of St Pauls Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements by Wells Funeral Home in Liberty once body arrives. Survived by four sisters and four brothers and grandmother Lydia Humphrey, all of Double Bayou.
