Beach City VFD Fundraiser Great American Celebration
Beach City Volunteer Fire Department hosts a fundraising event on Saturday July 9 from 1 to 6 pm featuring live music by Adam Aiken and The Southbound Band water games and hose races hot dogs sausage on a stick apple pie and arts and crafts tables. Local officials will attend to support equipment needs for the fire department.

Independence Day celebrations in Baytown drew larger crowds with concerts in Bicentennial Park on July 3 and 4. Kylie Wilson of parks and recreation called it the biggest year yet and noted July 3 attendance matched the July 4 crowd from prior years. The Baytown Bud Heat Wave 5 Mile Run saw nearly 200 finishers with top male finishers William Blancett, Carlos Arias, and Vaughn Gibbs and top female finishers Shannon Miller, Stacy Holden, and Virginia Jones.

Crosby pair charged with felony in pit bull attack
Michael Hanes and Kimberly Sheppard of Crosby face third degree felony dog attack charges after two of their female pit bulls escaped and savagely attacked a 10 year old boy on Elk Drive. The boy was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center after the attack.
