Six Die In First Fourth Accident In Butler Pa
The first fatal highway crash of the Fourth of July period killed an entire Butler family in their new car. Edwin Beckwith and his wife Cathy, and their children David 4 Robert 12 Kenneth 3 and Peggy Sue 4 died after crossing the center line and colliding with a Ford convertible driven by Clifford Baker 45 of Kane Pa. Baker survived in good condition. The wreck occurred on Route 38 north of Pittsburgh late Wednesday, with the Beckwiths en route to a planned Fourth picnic.
