Thefts and arrests reported by Baytown police
Between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7:07 a.m. Wednesday a battery was stolen from a vehicle on Garth Road valued at 100 dollars. A 1993 blue Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with license X66 HFV was stolen from Vermont Street. A Walmart employee was fired after an assault at Garth Road Walmart, fined with a Class C assault citation. A man was arrested on Ward Road for possession of a controlled substance with 3.6 grams of marijuana seized. Shortly after midnight Thursday three people were arrested on Business Highway 146 with various charges and a total of 10.7 grams marijuana, 2.3 grams depressants, 5.4 grams stimulants seized.

Burglaries Reported on Ward Road Chilton Drive and Lobit Avenue
A burglarized apartment in the 2700 block of Ward Road at 2 10 p m Wednesday stole about 700 in computer and entertainment gear. A home on the 2000 block of Chilton Drive burglarized at 6 01 p m Wednesday with firearms valued at 600 stolen. Between 9 and 9 17 p m Wednesday a residence in the 100 block of East Lobit Avenue was burglarized with about 200 in computer and entertainment equipment taken.

Vehicle Burglarized On North Highway 146 At 7000 Block
A vehicle in the 7000 block of North Highway 146 was burglarized at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday. Personal items valued over $1,000 were stolen, including bank cards and narcotics.
Baytown Police Log Details 37 Offense Reports and Incidents
Between Wednesday and Thursday mornings Baytown police officers filed 37 offense reports and investigated incidents including three assaults two auto thefts three burglaries one burglary of a motor vehicle one criminal mischief two forgeries two thefts and fifteen other arrests plus eight miscellaneous cases. The period also saw seven vehicle accidents with one injury reported.

Two Houston employment agencies Hong Li and Tai Shan were shut down after arrests in a federal case accusing them of recruiting immigrants living in the U S illegally to supply Mexican and Central American workers to Chinese restaurants across at least seven states. Indictments allege use of Chinese language media to recruit and offer workers, housing them in cramped conditions, and transporting them to restaurants while paying below minimum wage for 12 hour days six days a week.
