Rev James Gordon 88 dies after long illness
The Rev. James Marshally Gordon 88 of 74 Fleetwood Baytown pastor of St. Mark's Methodist Church died at 8 10 pm Sunday in a Baytown hospital after a long illness. He was born January 24 1879 in Greenville Ul and moved to Baytown in 1940 to lead St. Mark's. Survived by his widow Lena Mae Gordon of Baytown three sons Frank N. Gordon of Fairbanks Texas Joe Gordon of Lubbock and Ted McCall of Baytown one daughter Mrs Mary Joe Burke of Houston seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren Also surviving are several in the Texas Methodist Conference and Park Place Masonic Lodge Houston Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 am at St Mark's Methodist Church with ministers including Rev Jester White Rev Wayne L McKeskey Rev Chester Steele Rev Edwin Summers and Rev Harry Holmes Interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery Houston under Paul A Lee Funeral Home guidance.
