Pueblo skipper breaks under North Korea torture details
Cmdr. Lloyd M. Bucher testified he confessed after brutal threats, then attempted suicide by drowning in a water bucket. He described being forced to sign a confession and feared execution as North Koreans taunted and tried to break his crew's will aboard the Pueblo seized off North Korea. He said he radioed for help, which never arrived, and recounts a harrowing interrogation with guards and a supposed CIA affiliation.
