San Francisco shells Dolphins in Super Bowl XIX
Don Shula said the 49ers would be dangerous but the 38-16 loss surprised no one after Miami failed to stop the run or pressure Joe Montana. Montana threw for 331 yards and three TDs while rushing 59 yards. Marino completed 29 of 50 with 318 yards as Miami faltered without Csonka Kiick or the defense’s usual playmakers.
