A patrol officer encountered a naked jogger in the 1000 block of North 10th Street around 7 am Tuesday. The man appeared to have mental health issues and was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
A burned car was recovered in a field in the 1300 block of Bowie Street around 9 30 a.m. Tuesday. Capt Roger Clifford of the Baytown Police Department said the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. The car was found burned to the frame.
Police logged several thefts and burglaries from Sunday to Tuesday across Cedar Bayou Road W Baker Road N Main Street Alexander Drive Rollingbrook Drive S Highway 146 Murrill Avenue Crystal Boulevard and nearby areas. Items stolen include a GPS unit a car stereo a video game system cash and a weapon from residences and a repair shop. Police note several incidents occurred over the past three weeks with some in daytime hours.
Between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning Baytown police filed 53 offense reports and investigated assaults, auto thefts, burglaries and vehicle thefts. Three minor crashes were checked. 17 other arrests and 17 other reports were noted. Crime Stoppers offers anonymity and tips for rewards.
The Harris County Sheriff announces a community shredding program with households limited to five boxes. Locations include District 2 Substation in Houston on March 26, Court Annex on May 21, George Bush Park on August 27 and District 1 Substation on November 12.
