Stocks rise after upbeat AMD outlook and oil-service upgrades
Stocks turned higher on Thursday helped by Advanced Micro Devices optimistic first quarter forecast and upgrades of oil services stocks. The Dow gained 25.85 to 10,880.71 as Nasdaq and S&P also advanced amid rising oil prices and firmer bond yields.

College seeks new arts center to replace Rundell Hall
College officials and faculty urge a new arts center as Rundell Hall proves too small for music and theater programs. They cite cramped rehearsal spaces, inadequate lighting, no costume storage, and a non soundproof music wing while praising past moves to the McNulty Haddick Complex and hoping for community support and a timeline for architectural RFQ submissions.
