Plans OK'd For Harris County Home For Boys
Harris County Commissioners Court approved plans and specifications for a new 2 million dollar county boys school to be built behind the present building on the Clear Lake site. The juvenile board buildings and grounds committee and County Engineer Dick Doss endorsed the project. Construction will replace present facilities in about a year. Architects Robert W. Maurice and Richard S. Wilkins prepared the estimate. Funds come from the remainder of a 4 million bond issue approved by voters in January 1966 for juvenile facilities. The plan provides complete housing educational and recreational facilities for 100 boys and housing for a staff of 38 adults.
