Baytown Hosts Lt. Gov. Preston Smith on Busy Bay Tour
Preston Smith visited Baytown amid tensions over shell dredging rules near live oyster reefs. Local clubs and officials voiced concerns to the lieutenant governor about the 1,500 foot dredging allowance, while he also heard Baytown’s public issues including streets bingo and the old city hall during an eight and a half hour visit featuring tours of NASA Clear Lake and a Bayshore Club reception.
