Spanish Republican in Exile Resigns His Post
In Mexico City on January 19, Spanish Republican Ambassador Luis Niclpal D Oliver resigned his post as diplomatic representative of the Spanish Republican government in exile. Pablo De Trevolla confirmed the rumors and said President Alvaro De Albornoz accepted the resignation. The report notes De Olver’s departure amid ongoing, competitive auto industry ties and Kaiser-Frazer’s strategic shifts at Willow Run. Kaiser-Frazer had risen rapidly since 1935, building 12,000 cars by year’s end and expanding into steel, aluminum, cement, shipping, and other ventures before facing market challenges and product stagnation.
