La Porte Attorney Urges Jury System Support
La Porte attorney John S. Kubler Jr urged Baytown Rotary members to defend juries as the bulwark of freedom. He warned against brainwashing by insurance interests and warned that large settlements influence jurors. He argued high insurance rates result from verdict costs and cautioned against “super boards” replacing juries in civil cases.
