Former Refinery Leader J L Finley Dies in Houston
J L Finley, 84, former General Superintendent of Refineries for Humble Oil and Baytown Refinery manager, died at 3 pm Monday at Houston’s hospital. Born in Indiana, he worked at Whiting refinery, then Imperial Oil in Saskatchewan, Montreal, and Charleston before joining Humble in 1922. Survived by son Lawrence Finley of Memphis, two grandchildren, sister Mrs. George Curtin, and two nephews. Funeral arrangements by George H. Lewis and Long Funeral Home. He lived at the Walton Hotel in Houston and had supported the Salvation Army. he was a member of its board of directors.
