Chambers County Clerk Norma Rowland has taken her overtime pay dispute with county commissioners to the Wage and Hour Division of the U S Department of Labor after failing to reach an agreement. The issue centers on overtime for Rowland s assistant clerks who worked 14 hours during the November election and were paid $2 an hour. County officials say the law exempts personnel of elected officials and urged offset time off, with any unapproved payment to be repaid if legal.
