Senator seeks to cut high school playoff teams per district to two
Texas State Sen. Charles Perry proposed SB 237 to limit playoff berths from each district to two across all UIL sports, citing Scarborough Spartans 0-10 season and four-team districts. The bill, backed by data from recent years, would affect districts like 21-5A and 21-6A and faces skepticism from coaches who favor current four-team qualifications.
