Spelling Burnet with One T Sparks Baytown Debate
In a Baytown style New Year tip we explore why David G. Burnet is often spelled with two Ts. The piece recounts Burnet as Texas Republic’s first provisional president, his rough tenure, and humorous anecdotes from Burnet's name mispronunciations to maps and signs. It notes Houston’s later presidency and Lamar’s rise.
