Eight-Year-Old Boy Struck By Car In Baytown
Eight-year-old Raymond Henry Wooten Jr. was struck while running across Airhart Drive at Dorris. Chester S. Pickett of the Stewart Hotel drove the car and received a ticket for no operator’s license. The boy, son of Mr and Mrs Henry Wooten of Busch Terrace, was taken to Baytown hospital with bruises and lacerations to the head and arms.

President Killed At Race Track In Panama City
Ex President Arnulfo Arias was arrested with a large group of supporters as police hunted the gunmen who killed President Jose A. Remon at the Juan Franco racetrack Sunday night. John King’s Last Rites Held Today
Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. Monday for John Henry King, 46, of Highlands. The Rev. A. J. Martin would officiate at the Paul A. Lee Funeral Home chapel, with burial at Peebles Cemetery near Goodrich at 4:20 p.m. King died Saturday night after 24 years in Highlands as a Bay Town Refinery worker. Surviving are his widow Willie Mauding, three daughters, three sons, and five grandchildren, plus his mother Martha Frances Terry of Houston, four brothers, and four sisters.

Weather forecast predicted rain for Bayshore area but Sunday's skies stayed largely dry. Couples Lost in Bay Found at La Porte.
Two Houston couples, missing after a six hour Baytown search, were found safe in La Porte at noon Sunday. Mr and Mrs W R Northcutt and Mr and Mrs N A Solsbery had left Lynchburg in an outboard boat Saturday night. Fire crews joined the hunt at dawn and located them at a hotel after the fog lifted.
