AUSTIN AP James A. Cross Jr. received a life sentence for the sex slaying of a University of Texas coed. The 23 year old Fort Worth student was escorted from the courtroom to the sheriff's office, where relatives congratulated him. The jury convicted him after a two hour and thirty four minute deliberation.

Baytonians Exhibit At Houston Livestock Show
Baytown Future Farmers Chapter at Robert E. Lee High School and the Baytown H Club will exhibit at the Houston Livestock Show opening Wednesday at the Domed Stadium. Livestock judging begins at 8 a.m. in the new $4.25 million building south of the stadium. The traditional downtown parade was set for 1 p.m. with 3,000 horses and riders, 100 wagons, bands, and officials.
