James C. Curt Knight 81 of Baytown died Sunday after a Houston hospital stay. Born in Houston in 1930 he founded Grace's Kitchen and prioritized feeding others even at his own funeral. His wife chose Tuesday for the service to not disrupt Wednesday meals. His daughter Melanie Knight Hall confirmed the decision.
Kayla Aleman, a sixth grade student at Gentry Junior School, earned first place for her exhibit on the history of the American Red Cross, highlighting volunteer work and the organization’s aid to people in need, with a regional level ahead in March.
