Waldrop's Baytown roots and rise in boat racing fame
Waldrop, honored with the APBA Honor Squadron award in Detroit, recalls a life steeped in boat racing from a Channelview childhood to joining Red Adair's team. He earned seven OPC national titles and two UIM world titles in the 1970s and 80s, later shaping safety innovations and serving as race director and commissioner for international events. He credits support from family, a marine business, and global racing roles driving a lifelong passion.
