Federal Court May Invalidate Redistrict Bill

A three judge federal court will be asked within two weeks to invalidate Texas 1967 House redistricting and substitute a model plan for this year. Plaintiffs include Rep. Lob Eckhardt, Sen. Franklin Spears, Bill Kupgarlin, Sen. Don Kennard, and Rep. Jake Johnson. The suit seeks review of the 1967 remap in light of current population estimates and federal one man one vote doctrine.

Father's Unexpected Visit Reveals Deaths

Frank Long of Grestram Texas drove across the state and visited his daughter Jessie Edge and wife Donna Long Edge in a three room Lubbock apartment. After forcing a door he found the couple asphyxiated beside an open heater. Police said the pair had been dead several days and there was no sign of foul play.
