City to Penalize Late Water Bill Payers in Baytown
Baytown City Council approved a plan to penalize residents who pay city water sewer and garbage bills late. Finance Director LeFevre projected about 15 000 extra annual revenue with a proposed 10 percent late fee. The ordinance will be amended and read later this month with penalties likely in March.

Tides Run High as Front Stalls over Baytown
Baytown tides reached two to two and a half feet above normal Thursday morning then eased by noon. Civil Defense Director Fletcher Hickerson said no danger to homes or buildings is expected.
