Governor proclaims Chris Kyle Day in Texas
Governor Greg Abbott signed a proclamation declaring February 2 as Chris Kyle Day in Texas as flags fly at half staff. The move honors the Navy SEAL depicted in American Sniper, while the Kyle family and lawmakers note service and sacrifice beyond one man. The proclamation came days before the trial of Eddie Ray Routh, accused in Kyle and Chad Littlefield's killings.
