Body Buried 141 Years Is Preserved
MONROE LA Feb 4 Authorities said the body of a young woman found in perfect condition though buried 141 years ago will be held for a while in case someone wants to claim it. Workmen unearthed the remains Thursday and noted its state of preservation but a broken window window allowed decomposition to begin. City officials will attempt to store the gold shaped cast iron casket in the cemetery if no rightful claimant is found. The discovery was made on the banks of Bayou Desiard by trench diggers.
