A Wooster residence at 229 Avenue A suffered a major fire last night damaging six rooms. Mrs Steans alerted the Wooster Volunteer Fire Department after smelling smoke. Fire chief Eddie Cox estimated losses between 3500 and 4000 dollars. Firefighters arrived within three minutes and contained the blaze though the kitchen and bedroom were destroyed. Cause undetermined but electrical wiring is suspected. Fire damaged contents and spread to a third room.
