La Porte man dies in auto accident during holiday weekend
A La Porte man Andrew Lopez 32 and Rene Lozano 17 of San Ygnacio died when two cars collided at FM 3169 and US 83 in San Ygnacio. DPS reports list 22 traffic deaths in the first half of a four day holiday weekend with a DPS estimate of up to 53. Other fatalities included Medardo Cantu 23 of Brownsville and a teenage bicyclist in Red Oak, Virginia Walton 35 in Childress, Rhonda Reynolds 21 Weatherford, a Houston man 24 on I 10, and Darius Wilson found in a bayou after a Saturday crash.

Cold front to bring clouds and cooler temps this week
A cold front moves through South Texas Monday night into Tuesday morning bringing a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms.
