Baytown churches plan Christ Child worship with midnight Holy Communion at Trinity Episcopal Church and services at St Pauls Lutheran St Marks Methodist and St Josephs Catholic. Trinity features choir Organist and sermon by Rev Henckell broadcast on RREL. St Pauls hosts candlelight vesper at 730 pm. St Marks offers family night communion 6 to 8 pm. St Josephs offers Solemn High Mass at midnight with multiple masses and benediction after 10 am. Proceeds from masses aid Galveston Diocese orphans.

Deserters Leave for Communist Life After Repatriation

A group of 22 unrepatriated prisoners walks from a stockade toward a new life in the Communist state. An Indian command spokesman says the transfer of Americans Briton and South Koreans occurred without incident. As the deadline passes, the exiles are classified as absent without leave but will have continuing pay and family allotments until January 23, after which they travel north to live as civilians under communist leadership.

Raytown's youngest class of six Lamar elementary girls meet weekly to learn first aid and fundraise. They saved dues to buy rhythm instruments for palsied children at a cerebral palsy treatment center. The group, formed by Linda Feinberg and Tina Altman, includes officers Sharon Martin, Jerry Milner, Kitty Henderson, and Martha Strauss. all eight and nine year olds.

Goodfellows Work Ends As Carpenters Union Delivers

Chief Goodfellow notes the annual effort wrapped up as Carpenters Union 1524 volunteers staffed the delivery center. PTA workers Mantli and Theshiy packed bags and, with drivers, moved them out in minutes while some last-minute deliveries continued to reach underprivileged children with toys fruit nuts and candy for Christmas. Baytown Youths Injured in Iste Accident

Tommy Laughlin, 38, son of Mr and Mrs T E Laughlin of 1817 California, suffered minor cuts after his car skidded through a barricade at the Galveston praia walk end. He received four stitches for a forehead cut and stayed in a Galveston hospital overnight for observation. He is expected to go home Friday. Three other Baytown teens, Stewart Frazer Nan Terrill and Mrs Vaulx Zor Baughman, were unhurt.
