Sterling Rips Through 21-6A With Elite Rushing Season
Sterling running back Elijah Chenier ran for 1510 yards and 15 touchdowns despite hamstring issues, leading 21-6A in rushing and earning Player of the Year honors. He finished just 12 yards behind district leader Chris Jefferson and topped a trio of Big 12 bound backs in the district. Jim Finley, Baytown Sun veteran, lauded Chenier’s effort and leadership while Salman Gareri noted Chenier’s dedication and teamwork as keys to Sterling’s strong 5-0 start, the program’s best since 1988.
