No Extra Tax Cost To Harris County Domed Stadium
Harris County voters are told the proposed domed stadium will not raise taxes. The plan redirects 33 cents yearly from current tax money to fund the project, with the Houston Sports Association paying 750 000 a year for 140 years to retire bonds. A three cent levy may apply until valuations grow, potentially costing the average taxpayer about 33 cents annually, roughly the price of a pack of cigarettes.
