Barbers Hill Faces Sonora In Class A State Final
Barbers Hill Eagles meet Sonora Broncos in the Class A state title game at Austin's Nelson Field at 7:30 p.m. The southern champ Barbers Hill and northern champ Sonora both won hard to reach the final with Sonora penning a late 20-19 win over White Deer and Barbers Hill erasing a 14-14 tie against Schulenburg. The Eagles seek their first state crown since moving to Class A in 1960. Sonora, a three time champion, aims for another title after 1996 1968 and 1970 wins and a runner-up finish this year. Wayne Shaw notes both teams are ready for the big stage.
