Baytown sewer project advances with Whitelak contract
The fourth stage of the Pay toun sewer improvement program is contracted to Whitelak Inc of Houston. Total cost about 779000 dollars, with 70 percent funded by bonds approved in 1965 and federal aid. Bids were opened in May 1967, construction began July 16, 1967, and March 1968 is set for completion of the main phase. Final small pipelines across the city will follow, with Woodlawn and Cedar Bayou facilities to be streamlined. A high lift station will be installed at Woodlawn as parts arrive.
